About
ConcordHistory.com is a project operated and maintained by the Concord Historical Society, a 501(c3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Concord and the surrounding area.
ConcordHistory.com was launched in November 2010 as a way to share Concord’s history by reaching out through the Internet to people all over the world. Our organizational site, www.concordhistorical.org, is where you can find information about current CHS news, events, volunteer and membership opportunities.
Please let others know about ConcordHistory.com through email or facebook, by clicking on one of icons below “share this page” on the bottom of any of the pages on this site.

May Haidari:
Thank you for visiting the Concord Historical Society’s website and making your inquiry.
If the Society has information on your home, it would be located at its Resource Center at 1601 Sutter Street – Suite E, Concord, CA. This research facility is open on Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. or by appointment. I would recommend that you call ahead: 925-827-3380.
Another potential resource for information about your home may be found through the tax records of Contra Costa County.
I hope this information proves fruitful.

My sister Marie and I are members of the Concord Historical Society. My husband Tony and I live in Concord for 8 years, and I love this city, so this city needs a museum.
Dolores Vargas:
Thank you for your words of encouragement to your Concord Historical Society and enthusiasm over your museum. Yes, a museum will be opening at the Galindo house in the near future. Eventually, the Masonic Temple will expand the Society’s museum facilities.
If you, your husband and/or your sister wish, the Society has need of volunteer help in a number of areas.
Appreciatively,
John Keibel – CHS director
The Galindo Home Museum & Gardens will be open May 6 and every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and every Wednesday from 12 to 4 p.m. The house was built in 1856 and added on to in 1875. Members of the Galindo family lived in the house from 1856 to 1999 when Ruth Galindo passed away. It has been completely refurbished. The original Galindo furniture and artifacts have been returned to the house after being stored by the Concord Historical Society since 2000. It’s a beautiful museum – one for which everyone in Concord can be proud.
